WHITE WINES
Chenin Blanc, Cannonberg, Western Cape, South Africa, 2013
Crispy, zesty and full of fruit. From cool vineyards in the mountains north of Cape Town.
Sauvignon Blanc, Terre Des Olivettes, IGT Pays d’Oc, 2012
With a classic grassy nose, crisp acidity and rounded citrus flavours, this wine is a splendid aperitif and is excellent with salads and seafood.
Sauvignon Colombard, Aramis, Cotes de Gascogne, France, 2012
Pure, fresh, lime and lemon zest- scented Sauvignon Blanc Colombard blend. Intense fruit flavours in the attack precede a lingering citrus finish.
Pinot Grigio, Tre Fili, Veneto, Italy, 2012
A refined nose of pears and peaches is followed by a complex palate and a long nutty finish.
Picpoul de Pinet, Grand Vin du Languedoc, 2013
Crisp with floral and citrus fruit flavours. Vines grow near the famous Etang de Thau oyster beds.
RED WINES
Merlot, Terres dis Olivettes, IGT Pays d’Oc, France, 2012
The favourite of Monsieur Glover! Soft with ripe fruits and a lovely plummy finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cannonberg, Western Cape, South Africa, 2012
Another excellent example of the potential of the Cape’s vineyards with notes of cherry, cassis and plum.
Corbieres, Lo Petit Fantet d’Hippolyte, Ollieux Romanis, France, 2012
‘Lo Petit Fantet d’Hyppolite’ is a blend of mainly Carignan with a splash of Grenache Noir and Syrah and is fermented with natural yeasts and no added sulphur. The label is designed by Pierre’s young son, Hyppolite, who often accompanies his father into the vineyards. Notes of thyme, rosemary and black cherry with a hint of woody spice.
Merlot Malbec, Tour des Gendres, Bergerac, France, 2012
Strictly farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles by Luc de Conti who founded the estate in 1981. Soft with flavours of plums, red cherries and spices backed up by hints of vanilla and chocolate.
ROSE WINE
Lo Bartas Organic Rose, VDP d’Oc , France, 2012
Made from cinsault & syrah, this rosé is totally fruit driven with soft red berries and spicy characters finishing with well- balanced acidity. Delicious!

Unexpected Gem!
Wow, the whole experience was unforgettable. Great food, drinks and atmosphere in, pretty much the middle of nowhere. Local beers and cider complimented the local produce and a walk round the walled garden itself was very pleasant. Could not fault any of it. (TripAdvisor)
Simple, high quality, tasty food
Excellent beef casserole with mashed potato and vegetables, all home or locally produced. Very good coffee. One of the party ordered peppermint tea, for which they cut leaves from the garden. Desserts again simple but high quality. Good range of veggie options.
Worth driving the Bealach na Bah for!
Having driven the Bealach na Ba we drove to the Walled Garden. And were delighted to find it open on a Sunday morning. We had full breakfast – which included toast, orange juice and coffee (which was refilled free). Superb value at £10 each. Nice atmosphere, old greenhouse being reused, and the staff were very friendly. Next time we’re in Applecross, we’ll come for dinner. (TripAdvisor)
A hidden gem
We came across this place while on a walk around Applecross. It is set in a beautiful walled garden as the name suggests and turned out to be a real find. We both had the scallops and black pudding. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the whole dish was splendidly tasty. Although the presentation is not fine dining the food quality certainly is. Not to be missed if you are in the vicinity. Lovely 'shabby chic' walled garden & great cafe - all dog friendly!
Lovely relaxed garden with herbaceous beds and veg area too. Woodland & river walks in wider estate. Dogs allowed everywhere, hooray! Dog friendly cafe in one of the original greenhouses which serves all sorts of food- sandwiches, cake, soup, chips, steak, fish, great vege options, coffee & range of teas. (TripAdvisor)
A hidden gem
This lovely old-fashioned walled garden hides a superb little restaurant, well off the beaten track but forunately known to our tour guide. the menu featured delicious home produced, home cooked choices. all served with true Scottish friendliness at very reasonable prices. There was also an intriguing little shop selling local crafts and produce - take home a taste of the Highlands! Good choice for travellers exploring the spectacular Torridon mountains and Applecross pass. (TripAdvisor)
